My Father,Bill,and I talked about Toyota coming to North Ms. and I told him more than once that it will not start operations so he made this statement during the campaign;
"Andy HAD nothing to do with TOYOTA so you can not blame him for it."
He is RIGHT I HAD NOTHING to do with Toyota coming to North Ms. and I also HAVE nothing to do with it not opening in 2008,2009 or 2010.
It's 2007 and all our POLITICIANS take office in 2008,I do not believe we will get any vendor's from Toyota.
I believe Marshall County,Panola County,Itawamba County and possibly Alabama will get 1-2.?
NONE of the above Counties are in the PUL aliance and I WILL fight for the people of Pontotoc County-PONTOTOC COUNTY PEOPLE SHOULD WORK IN PONTOTOC COUNTY!!!!
I do believe in 2010 our POLITICIANS will announce TOYOTA will start operations in 2011
(ELECTION YEAR) but buyer beware?
Because of ALL THE GREAT PEOPLE of PONTOTOC COUNTY I hope and pray that by December of 2008 people call me and tell me I was wrong;Pontotoc County people are back working in Pontotoc County and the economy is great but I just do not see it happening by 2010.
Good people of PONTOTOC COUNTY the TOYOTA plant is NOT going to start operations
within the next four years;IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

I know we ALL have heard that Toyota is going into operations in 2008 but if you was hoping for a job please DO NOT GET YOUR HOPES UP,PLEASE PLEASE.

I don't believe TOYOTA will start operations later 2011 or maybe early 2012,if it starts at all,I hope they get their act together so we can get PEOPLE BACK TO WORK!!!!!!!!

I feel in 2011(ELECTION YEAR AGAIN)that our POLITICIANS will make the statement that TOYOTA will open in 2012; but remember they tried this trick in 2007 about Toyota opening in 2008-So be careful what you hear and weigh the facts.
If YOU are without a job OR was hoping to get hired at TOYOTA please DO NOT get your hopes up,Please.
EVERY POLITICIAN from COUNTY to STATE to FEDERAL has taken CREDIT for getting TOYOTA in North Mississippi;
When TOYOTA does not start operations how many will take the blame?
How many POLITICIANS will accept we messed up,how many? (NONE)
They ALL said "TOYOTA WILL START OPERATIONS IN 2008,but it did not.
I will say N O N E and I'm sure the TOYOTA news will die down quicker than it came.
As of 2007 all you hear about is how "I" (EVERY POLITICIAN) got Toyota in North Mississippi but when it does not open you will hear less and less about Toyota.
I do not believe we will get any service contracts IE:WATER,SEWER,ELECTRIC,or GAS.
I believe Tupelo will get the most and MAYBE PEPA might get the electric contract but I just do not see it happening.
Some more things I see happening in the next few years;
I know YOUR taxes will go up,your garbage bill will go up,the CITY SCHOOL and SOME OF OUR COLLEGES will start losing money and maybe eiher raise taxes and tuition or go in consolidation (The COUNTY SCHOOLS has a larger tax base so they may do O.K. but hurt) the CITY SCHOOLS are mileage to the max allowed by State laws,more plants WILL LOSE jobs and close and our biggest furniture mfg. [ASHLEY] will lay off people in 2008.
( I pray they are hired back sometime in 2009? )
ACTION WILL CLOSE the plant in Pontotoc another plant CLOSED in the Industrial Park something that we do not need at this time with all the people without jobs!
I believe ACTION will move the PONTOTOC operation to LEE or MONROE COUNTY costing our CITIZENS more money in gas,time,and maybe jobs-you may say but they will keep their jobs but it will cost them more money to go to and from work if it was kept in Pontotoc County they would have more money in their pockets!
I have been a PUBLIC SERVANT since 1975 and I have watched this happen more than once-I know what is going to happen-IT IS NOT GOING TO BE GOOD IN PONTOTOC COUNTY unless WE GET SOMEONE WILLING TO TAKE A STAND FOR THE PEOPLE OF PONTOTOC COUNTY.
My friends I have said " WE CAN NOT WAIT FOUR MORE YEARS " people are hurting and we need to get jobs back and keep the jobs we have,it is past time for a CHANGE!
ALL our POLITICIANS run on CHANGE and ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT but what happens to CHANGE after they are elected-I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY CHANGE IN THE PAST 4 YEARS!

Some politicians are only running for the money;I AM NOT I want to build on what we have in PONTOTOC COUNTY some of the most hard working,dedicated,Christian people in the world-We have the GREATEST furniture builders in the world right here in PONTOTOC COUNTY!!!!

I can see what is going to happen,in Pontotoc County,in the next four years and it is not going to be good when we start losing our tax base.
It is coming and coming soon.
A lot goes into being a SUPERVISOR and I know why we will not get any vendors because I have noticed how other communities have gotten buisnes from Companies.
I watched how the Nissan plant,in Canton,was distributed out to small companies for support operations of the plant and how many employees they brought from other companies within Nissan.
My Grandfather was a dairy farmer and ore mine electrician all my life and he was great at it,that is all he had ever done.
My Father was the Training Officer for Pontotoc County and he was great at it for that is all he had ever done.
I have spent over half my life in government work;working on projects that our Supervisors' handle on a day to day basis-Working on roadways to handling a budget.
"I am NOT running for the money-I have running to bring a better way of life for the people of Pontotoc County.
I have NO political agenda-I DO have a people agenda!!!
I WILL MAKE YOU and YOUR CAUSE MY No. 1 priority !
